Rhubarb chooses the spot between the third and the fourth wooden beam of the kitchen's roof.
Se empiezan a escuchar las primeras carreras y se divisan los primeros oteos, bigotes asomando.
Se declara vecino y compañero.
Se instala solo.
Lo imagino durmiendo sobre un montón de serrín, cómodo sobre los pensamientos inquietos de mi cabeza.
Ha venido desde la forêt a disipar las nubes.
The first races across the roof are heard , also first small snouts appear...
He declares himself official neighbour and roomate.
He settles alone.
I imagine him sleeping on a comfy pile of sawdust, above all my overwhelming thoughts.
He's come from the Forêt to dispel my cloudy mind.
Ruby me proporciona infinidad de escenas diminutas y divertidas.
Viene a dibujarme eternas sonrisas y a hacerme pasar los minutos más lentamente,observando sus maniobras poco exitosas para permanecer escondido mientras los tomates le embriagan.
Por las mañanas el tomate adquiere una nueva figura,el día se despierta distinto.los detalles cuentan, la noche despierta.
Ruby provides me with lots of tiny amusing scenes.
He's come to draw tones of smiles and to make me feel the minutes, while I observe carefully all his maneuvers, to keep himself hidden, unsuccessfully.
In the mornings the tomatoes get many different shapes. details matter. Ruby loves tomatoes. At night the big fest!
Ruibarbo amanecía a la hora de las comidas.
Los tempranos desayunos, las siestas con los platos sobre la encimera, y a la cena; en la cena, puntual siempre.
Ruhbarb woke up around the meals.
Early for breakfast, during the naps where all the dishes layed on top of the counter, and at dinner time; always so punctual.
El ajo despierta las recetas, los olfatos más perezosos, y con él, el craquelado de su piel seca y blanca irrumpe en el nido. Es la señal, el timbre de clase, nos preparamos para conversar.
The garlic wakes up every little sense. its sound, when the white crunchy skin comes out, wakes up all minds. Like a bell ringing, and we meet for our little date.
A Ruby le encanta el pan, el arroz, los tomates, los anacardos y las nueces.
Le pierden las pipas.
También un poco las fresas y las uvas.
Se llevó una entera de mis dedos, desde su escondite sobre el armario,y ésta acabó cayendo redonda sobre la encimera, provocándome una gran carcajada.
Ruby loves bread, rice, tomatoes, cashew nuts walnuts.
Sunflower seeds make him crazy!
Also strawberries and grapes.
Once, he took an entire grape from my fingers, and once he disappeared, it fell down form his tinny hands. It made me laugh so loud!
Ruibarbo y yo compartimos cocina durante algo más de un año.
Ruhbarb and I shared the kitchen for almost a year.
Compartimos un largo invierno, lleno de luces diminutas,de dudas, de miedos, tomates desfigurados, sombras, pan y fuegos.
We shared a long Winter, filled with small tiny lights, with lots of doubt, fears, rotten tomatoes, shadows, bread and fires.
Han llegado unos nuevos vecinos.
Mis nubes son una cálida bienvenida para algunos seres diminutos y ruidosos.
Tienen el tamaño de un pensamiento y su velocidad los hace casi intermitentes.
Pero si reparo y espero, puedo seguirle los pasos al truco.
La Primavera está despertando y me trae un sol lento.

New neighbours arrived!
My own clouds are now a warm welcome for these noisy little beings.
They are the size of a thought, and their speed makes them almost invisible.
But if I wait, and hang in there, I can follow their steps.
Spring is waking up, and it's bringing in a slow long sun.
La luz encoge las sombras, las vuelve bailarinas y escurridizas.El bosque respira Primavera, y deja pasar las alas de luz.
Light shrinks the shadows down, it makes them dance and elusive.
The forest breaths in Spring, and lets wings of light come inside.
Se vuelan los miedos y construyen nuevos refugios.
Fears are flown away, and new shelters are built.
